The production of the Rapidase® Enzymes at Seclin (North of France) is unique in modern biotechnology. The factory was established in the first hours of microbiology and has continually developed in order to be today at the forefront in the production of enzymes. Over the years, many new technologies and new products have been introduced on the site, with the aim best serving our customers with the most innovative products and with dsm-firmenich quality.
In 1922, the first industrial-scale Rapidase rolled out of a factory in Seclin, France. Over the years the Rapidase company became owned by Gist-Brocades and DSM then dsm-firmenich. In fact, Rapidase was our very first commercial enzyme. Since then we have become one of the world’s leading enzyme suppliers. In these 100 years, Rapidase has evolved into the premier fruit and wine enzyme portfolio. And it still carries the legacy of high performance, robust operation, and reliable supply and quality.
